heh, my first PU looked like this. I used 2 pieces of metacrylate (plexiglas) and a ceramic magnet from a kitchen cabinet. I wedged it then in the soundhole of my (first) guitar. It's somehow heart-warming the technology didn't change during the past 25 years (ok, except maybe we have the rare earths magnets and I had not a faintiest shade of knowledge about PU winding back then... ;-) )
