Fiber core top

I was so ready to build this box but it has a fiber core top. I didnt know it until I sanded the sticker off on the inside the rest of it is plywood. I dont use fiber core especially for a top. It doesnt resonate. I had the neck mounted and everything and was going to use it and put a pickup in it,so I let it dry. I came back out to the shop and realized I had mounted it left handed. Well that was the deciding factor. I took the neck out and mounted it in a edge cedar box. NOT A GOOD BOX TO USE

  • Guys, I have had some fiber boxes sound loud and good, 

  • Its just one of my things. I like for mine to be an acoustic cbg first then electric. Of course I only use mag pups and that does hurt the acoustic quality some but for the most part most of mine are acoustic electric.

  • It sure is pretty, though. I used this same box for an electric build ... check out my album for the finished product. To date, it has turned out to be my best build, although I admit the fiber top was a real challenge to work with! If you fill it with wood and make a solid body electric guitar out of it, it will be a nice save. :)
