Feigenspan #1804 P07

My great-grandfather Scheider was a braumeister for Feigenspan Brewery in Newark, NJ - hence the stencil on the fingerboard. Below the neck is a SPDT light switch to select between the two pickups (black magnetic PU from Gitty and a piezo, inside).

  • Killer of a build .

  • Mr. Glenn, that is very loveable and just a nice amount of funky.  Nice tribute to gramps too.

  • Thanks for the encouragement!

i should take photos of the guts of this build but, frankly, it's a mess.

    The things that worked well:

    1) A wall light switch (SPDT) works well as a selector for the piezo or magnetic pickup. It's large and easy to find by feel.

    2) The bridge rests on two 3/16 bolts that ar anchored on the resonator. They poke through the top of the body without touching it and allow the bridge to rest on two nuts that can be turned to raise or lower it.

    3) the scale is 23.5" which I favor for playing.

AND - I wanted to build it as a salute to my great-grandfather. I should find a Feigenspan logo online and duplicate it on the back of the body or something...
