thank you all for the comments regarding the chair. my wife would rather i not cut it up either, so at this point i'm outnumbered. the saw still calls however.
NO!!! Neat old chair. Unless it was rickety and not fixable, I would want to save it. Then I would wonder what the heck I was going to do with it. Bargain. You call.
shite, as UJ says. pick, the chairs on the site don't even have shaped spindles. they don't have arm rests though...? pieces of the spindles are perfect for my new git..... thank you. what do you mean by "repop"? hate to sound like an idiot. i must be an idiot, spending an hour setting up the table saw to cut the fretboard off a factory Ibanez neck. ended up cutting into the truss rod, didn't think there was one in there. i wanted the neck, not the fretboard.
OMG pick. how do you find these things? it may be too late.......i do love the chair, but nobody seems to sell 13/32 dowels. the japanese saw is to, now I'm torn. thanks bra! (as they say in hawaii).

Take a look a the bottom of the seat, might be a makers mark?
repop = reproduction . and yours looks like the real deal . probably worth sum bucks .

i searched online for Turned Spindles, found some that were similar, woodworkers supply, rockler hardware
that chair just seems too good to be cut up...i'd set it aside and think about it for a bit.

I'd get someone to look at it . even the repop wisdsor braced bow back chairs are close to a grand .
