I got to jam on one of my most recent builds in the gallery among my ceramic sculptures during my solo exhibition "Potential Energy" at the Appalachian Center for Craft. Here's a video of it: https://youtu.be/FLMd6_I7hNYRead more…
Very nice walk through and beautiful terra pan playing. Dennis Havlena has been an inspiration for many of my builds and he makes these from old propane tanks but I haven't tried that yet.
Jim, you've got a good eye there! Yes it is a hang! Well, hang is sort of a brand name of handpan made in Europe, and mine is a TerraPan made here in Georgia. I have a video playing that in the gallery plus a walk through of the art if you're curious. I love those instruments! That clip is very Zen :D .
I only had room to bring my little, old hacked tape deck to play through, so it's very low-fi and gritty. But I had fun getting to jam in the gallery. The gitty has great tone through a 'real' amp. Pretty rough here.
Just saw this Pick! Now I get it! :) Yeah, that setting in the gallery with my nature sculptures was like a garden of serenity. I'm really thankful they were cool with my bringing in some instruments to play.

Great pic!
Hey wait, is that a hang drum beside you or one of your art pieces? Hmmm... or a UFO
Very cool exhibit.
Thank you Pick!
it was wonderful all around . and fit well with the "earthy" tones.
