Quality control issues......!! My base arrived with this nasty crack in the base casting. Not to worry, I made up a couple of gusset plates made from thin aluminium sheet, cut and bent to shape, then bonded them in place with.....yep....a bit of 'JB Weld'!! Love that stuff....!! As you can see I prepped the area inside and out by removing the paint and scoring the surface to give the epoxy something extra to bite on. In all honesty, I may not need to have bothered with this step as it was unlikely to flex once all bolted up to the base, but I didn't want to take the chance....and if a job's worth doing.....etc!
