clasical bass

$9 thrift store guitar that I shouldn't have paid $9 for. Vintage 60's nylon string that someone put steel string on and made the neck rip off, so with a lot of wood glue the put it back on, badly.(then they put the steel strings on again). Tried to think of a way to save it. Used weedwhacker strings to turn it into a three string bass. Sounds like an upright bass from an old jazz record. Yeah, the strings are different colors

  • Typo: string gauges are something like 95, 80, 65

  • It's beat and ugly, but it IS fun to play. Tuned to relative EAD, I actually tuned it down a step to DGC, concerned about tension, it  holds tuning well. Round weedwhacker string, something like 95, 60, 65 gauges. Decent volume, great old upright tone.

  • Looks like a great investment to me. I am assuming tuned EAD?  What are the string sizes?
