Oh oh gouging a little to much, this wood is replete with nail holes so the neck will look a bit rugged.

Why thank you John, I am not a wood worker by trade, so I'm sure this is going to be quite a learning curve!

When cutting out wood in this fashion the chisel should be held with the bevel down and not up as in this photograph. This gives greater control and stops the chisel gouging into the wood. Regards John D
