I have not purchased any Grover locking tuners, but the name rings a bell. I may have them on my Carvin AC175 6-string guitar. I have used Hipshot locking tuners and they work and look good. I typically don’t use high end tuners on my CBGs, but I realized I might as well start using the Kluson ones since I have had them collecting dust for years! Thanks for weighing in on the locking tuners BrianQ!
The tuners are pretty heavy duty Andries! I do like locking tuners. Fortunately, I did not have to drill the hole larger for the G string, but it was a tight fit. An angle cut on the end made it easier to squeeze it through! Thanks for the kind words.
They look pretty sturdy Doug ! Kluson locking tuners ,are new to me! did you have to adapt them to the thicker size of the carbon fisching line? some nice detailing in this one !
They certainly are odd looking tuners Uncle John! They are high end Kluson locking tuners that I got a smoking deal from Stew Mac on years ago and have finally started using them. They are on the heavy side but are very smooth. Yep! It’s a fingerprint!
Glad you like it Rich! The fingerprint is intended to be a visual aid for finger placement when I teach some one how to play. I always start with the C chord and can say “put your finger right there on the fingerprint”.
Those are odd machine heads. They do look good - like a pair of eyes- with this chugger. Nice decoration on the there too. Maybe it is a finger print like Rich says.
