Champ rebuild woodwork

Using wood instead of metal makes for tricky parts. To clear the tone knob with wood make for a tight situation. I didn't want to route out more of the body to move the knob over away from the cover. This is tight, but works great.

  • Hi Gary, this is a Fender Champ rebuild. Fender, the guitar Co. made the metal fretboard long ago in the 50's. I got my Champ husk on ebay. The husk had no control plate and pickup cover and no pickup. I've replaced the pickup with an "Antiquity Seymour Duncan" hand wound pickup and made the rosewood control plates and cover. I wired her yesterday and she sounds great. The Antiquity pickup is awesome! I used two 250 Fender pots and a .025 capacitor. I'll post the strung finished guitar sometime today or tomorrow.
