Bridge detail

A local artist (Lia Littlewood in Yuma AZ) painted two boxes for me in December. The boy I built this for loves trains and that's him there in the cab.Since the paint came out so nice I wanted a bridge that would block as little of it as possible. A bit of aluminum rod and a small piece of oak I sanded into a U shape to hold the rod seem to fit the bill perfectly. The tailpiece is just a 3 nail picture hook I reshaped, I really like these as tailpieces.

  • Lia who did the paint does amazing work!  It was a blast getting to work with her.  The other one I built in parallel with this one has really killer paint too - but it's not quite ready for unveiling yet ;)
