Oak neck-through with commercial 15 inch fretboard...the former birdhouse (gourd) gives the Uke a richer tone than I expected, especially with 30 lbs fishing line in place of regular strings(a very inexpensive and-so far-effective alternative!).

Thanks! If anyone wants a similar finish the secret to the 'pretty' is a Bullseye amber-colored shellac.
