Bigscreen CBG box view

This one is already sold. These distinctive sound holes began as visualized F holes. A chipped crack developed in the thin wood at one edge, which bummed me for a while. After some reflection, I solved this 'mistake' with a "Custom Design Feature" by cutting 2 rectangular sound holes. The wire is from a vintage barn window. This CBG is nice and loud acoustically. There is a rod piezo inside, wired directly to a jack located on the bottom side.A drawer handle makes for a handy arm rest. A vegetable steamer's aluminum leaf makes up the tail piece. Commercial vinyl for fret markers.

  • Thanks, guys.

These sound holes started me on a road to visualizing more creative shapes rather than F holes on most of my builds. When I started building years ago, I used grommets always. Now I just about only use grommets on the lunch boxes and tin guitars.

The larger sound holes lead to louder instruments acoustically, usually.

  • Great save, Rich.  Something different and great.  Love the album pairing.  High 9s.

  • Creative recovery! Unique and I think it works well with the headstock design.
