Had a rough life for sure, maybe came from a car dumped in the river to hide something, or someone, maybe. Never too far gone UJ, a little extra bracing and it'll be singing in no time!
Kinda wierd that 1954 plate from New Mexico would have that extent of "patina", usually the southern plates hold up as opposed to the plates up north where we are. Southern transplant maybe? ;-)

Hi, then the plate I took in a French collector plate is quite large so I think this may be the plate of a truck.
the plate is probably years 1950/1960
my personal touch on cigar box is to make instruments on fairly aibmé basis to prove that it really sounds.
I should finish the guitar in one or two days :)
