  • Thanks Jim. I look for it every year. It’s like the CBG fests but no venders, just a day of jammin, playing to a faithful crowd and visiting old friends. Mostly old time string band music and bluegrass.

  • Very cool poster for what looks like a great event!

  • Chickens got their eggs together Denbo.

  • Hey Andy. Nice to hear your upbringing. These Jug Battles seem to be a local thing. You guys around the world have the CBG fests. They are yet unheard of up here but i’ve Heard of several Jug Battles in Minnesota alone. Basicly they are the same animal. Just different wrappers. I’ve loved our Battle here in Duluth and in Effie MN. I’ve competed in every Duluth Battle since it started. In bands like De Elliot Bros, Ho Ho and the Ahos, and now The Procrastinators. It’s pure Fun.

Uncle, wish you could join us. Matter of fact Y’all come ya hear.

  • Oh! Dude! (1.) I was just up there in Duluth! (MN, right?) My uncle's funeral was 1/19. I hadn't been up to the Twin Ports in 30 years.  I was born in Superior, and I was taken home from the hospital to Duluth--Morgan Park, to be precise.  (2.) A "Battle of the Jug Bands" sounds wicked cool!  I live in NW IL (about 8 hours away, otherwise I'd be there!

  • Great poster.  I wish I could be there with a four string, a cajon, an Iowa sax, new shoes and a brand new Five dollar bill.

  • Excellent illustrative style you have there, Dave,

  • We’ve been doing the Battle for 23 years. Many of the “founders” have passed on but fresh juggernaughts keep showing up. It’s Too much fun. The Minneapolis Battle now runs for two days with a huge crowd. Their Battle just happened this past weekend.

  • wow !!!

  • Sounds like good times?
