I've looked for a guitar using this box but haven't found one yet. Here's mine so far. Has anyone else used this box before? I was kinda dissapointed to learn the top and bottom aren't real wood. It's that pressed hard board stuff with an inner and outer layer of wood veneer. Oh well....hope it sounds good.

Jerry, I went over and checked it out. I might have to try that idea some time. I bet it sounds cool! I love that banjo'ie sound....spell check allowed that by the way. Lol
Thanks Jerry! I'm kinda thinking about distressing the box some. Give it a dirty look and then a nice oil finish. I'm also considering using a lipstick pickup. It might be the only thing I can fit on there without removing one of the wood stringers....or whatever you'd call them.
looks great.,,.I have used that box,, but it was on an early build from the end of 2013 , and as I recall I did not use the lid, but substituted a small pot lid.,.,it sounded "banjo'ie".,if thats a word.,.,sweet looking Black walnut neck you have there.,.,nice dots too.,.,

I have that box, but unused so far. Like what you're doing with it! I'm guessing the pressed board will sound fine. Good work!
