A sanding belt turned inside out makes a great shaping tool. Clamped the bottom end of the neck to the bench, and used the belt like a shoe shine rag to take out slight imperfections after belt sanding.

Good idea. I like to use a random orbital sander. But my goal is more serviceable than perfection.
