AGP #369 - “Tamjo” 3 String Diatonic Fretted (????)Scale:648mm/25½inches Strings:.024BW/.016PS/.012PS/Tuned D A dThe Neck is recycled Poplar from my deconstructed Piano I acquired a few years back, the 6mm Hexagon Nut was also from the same Piano, the de-cymbaled Tambourine, has a Birch Ply Body with a Polyester Skin. Not sure what category of instrument this build fits into, Banjo?/Dulcijo?/Strummy Stick?/, I used elements from all 3 when building, but!, unfortunately it was not the success I thought it would be, very poor Acoustic Volume, and has no Banjo type ring to it at all, I wasn’t going to fit a Pickup, but now glad I did!, albeit one those Piezo Discs I don’t normally like!, in case anyone is wondering why the Piezo Disc is fitted to the underside of the Neck instead of the topside, and then hidden with 50 cent Coin, is because it’s what’s referred to in the CBG building world as, a “Stuff Up”:-D

"Thanks Dave", I hope your right and size does matter :-D, as I also have a 10 incher with a Lamb Skin Head, to be used in a future build, glad you like the Tailpiece, I finally remembered to use one, perhaps I can get a bit more volume and a Banjoey sound out of it, if put my hearing aids In!, :-D
This is one of two Ebay cheapy's I bought, it's a 8" Polyester head, the other which I haven't used yet is 10" with a Lamb Skin Head, don't know if that will make any difference or not. :-)
That tambourine should do it’s thing AGP. My Pickins is a LUDWIG Tambourine. 10 inch. It’s vintage and very loud acoustic. I think size matters in this case. Mine is well strung. .. just sayin.
"Thanks Ambrose", with 70yrs of age fast approaching, the term "Stuff Up" will then be removed from my CBG vocabulary, and replaced with "A Seniors Moment" :-D
"Thanks UJ", looks like a "Banjer", but sadly doesn't sound like a "Banjer", and your more than welcome to pop over anytime and sample my many builds :-)
"Thanks Bones", a lot of Lynas in this build, I think I paid around $3 for the Colander Leaf many years ago, but prefer my Hinge Tailpieces most of the time, and I'm going to rephrase the term "Stuff Up", to a "Seniors Moment". :-D
"Thanks Denbo" Yep!, your dead right, it was heavily influenced by the Dave Lynas "Slim Pickins" Banjoey Build, I think Dave may have used a bit better quality Tambourine than the cheap arse one I bought om Ebay :-D

"Thanks Jim", as per my reply to Dave's comment, the addition of my not very often used Hearing Aids might improve the Acoustic qualities :-D

Looks great! I don't know why it doesn't have volume or twang. sure looks like it should!
