AGP #314 - ''Bluey'' (2)

AGP #314 - “Bluey”(6 String Metal Box Guitar)Scale : 648mm / 25½inchesStrings .044NW/.034NW/.026NW/.020PS/.016PS/.012PS/Tuning : E / B / e / E / B / e /The Blue $4 Tin was a Charity Shop purchase, and have no idea what it was used for!, a Tele type 6 String Saddle with a 6.5k Single Coil Pup and a 7.6 Tele type Neck Pup are wired through a Pre-wired Gibson type Harness with individual Vol & Tones through a 3 way Switch to the Jack. The Neck is recycled Grey Ironbark, the Fretboard & Headstock Wings Are recycled Spotted Gum and the Nut is Asian Water Buffalo Bone.Obviously it was built purely for Slide, but I still wasn’t sure how, or if, I could handle the odd tuning and the 6 strings, as has been stated many times on the CBN “6 strings are 3 too many”, but in the short time I’ve been playing around with it, it’s certainly different! But! a heck of a lot of fun! :-D

  • Looks good from what I see.

Tuning makes me think of 2 - 3 stringers(1 low tone and 1 high tone). My 6 string Dulcitar is setup that way.

Tele bridge pickups are great, especially for rowdy slide. Only thing I'd do different is change out the neck pickup for a P90 or mini-bucker, but to each his own.

    Enjoy it and often.

  • "Thanks UJ", one of my favourite Kiss (Keep it Simple Stupid) style Headstocks, not sure if its the same in US, but over here Bluey has a myriad of meanings, obviously one is a Blue Heeler dog, also some one with Red Hair, a Police Fine, a Swag, an Overcoat and on and on........:-D

  • A sixer!  Love the head stock and wolf.  Oh,  Blue Heeler.  Cool.

  • "Thanks Bones", Yep! definitely as faithful as an Old Blue Heeler, and it yes does sound good (to me anyways), also doesn't seem to matter what strings you pluck or miss, I just keep Pickin' & Slidin' and it still sounds OK!, enjoying it at the moment :-D

  • Nice bet it sounds good and it will be as faithful as a Blue Dog mate I’m sure of that .
