AGP #310- “Baby Shitar” (3 String Fretless Sitar Style Guitar)Final Modification ??Scale :628.65mm/24¾ inchesStrings :.044NW/.030NW/.020NW/Tuning: G D gA re-visit to a Build from Feb 2018, that I was never quite happy with, apart from having a very nice home grown Gourd Sound Bowl, it was Big, Awkward to play, and looked Ugly. It’s obviously a 3 String version of a Danelectro Baby Sitar, the Grey Ironbark & Forest Red Gum Neck, the 3.6k Lipstick Pickup, and the Vol Tone Output Jack, are all from the original Build, as is the Marble (Jawari) Bridge and Nut, but the Draw Pull String Tailpiece was replaced with a Stainless Steel Steamer piece. The new top and bottom of the body, which is an upscaled version of a Pignose Travel Guitar, is recycled laminated pieces of 12mm x 32mm Cedar, with a piece of 6mm Hardwood Marine Ply sandwiched between them.As shown in some of the Pics, attached by a piece of string to the Headstock Hang Hole, is a conventional 3 String Bridge, as an extra option!. :-)

"Thanks Andries", the original build was indeed inspired your Sitar Bridge experiments back in 2018, and no!, have never done a sound sample, the high g string definitely has that Sitar Sound, but not so pronounced on the D and low G strings, and like your Big Box the Regular Bridge I have attached to the Headstock sounds just fine, and dose retain a fair bit of that Treble Reso sound, I think more attributable to the Lipstick Pickup in the Bridge Position, than anything else. :-)
Hi Alan i see you put the sitar bridge to work! how does she sound , i know you had a go at it before ,but cant remember you did a sound sample from that sitar bridge , i tryed myself ,not as the drone strings bridge ,but the direct playing strings , i took me awhile getting the correct angle , but the sound was verry interesting, i later changed the bridge back to regular, and is still one of my finest big box players it still haze that tremble rezzo qualety to it, did you do a sound sample allready?
