AGP #288 - ''The FBI''

AGP #288 - “The FBI”(3 String Guitar) - Scale : 648mm / 25½inchesStrings : .044NW / .030NW / .021NW /Tuning: G / D / g /The rather large Tin Sign was a Xmas gift 2 years back, sat unused in the shed, my thinking was that it was too big to do anything with, BUT!!, it did get the better of me in the end, the Box Sides are recycled Douglas Fir, or what is known down here as Oregon Pine, the Box Bottom is 3mm Pine Ply, the Neck is Poplar and the Fretboard and Headstock Wings are recycled Forest Gum.This is my second build using a Blend Pot, had a few problems with the electronics, after fitting the 10k Neck Humbucker now reads 8.5k, and the 15k Bridge Humbucker now reads 12.2k, don’t know if this is what happens when using a Blend Pot or not??, when in the Centre Setting the combined Pups read 5.3k, there was a lot of Screeching & Squawking to start with, I think? because the sides of the Neck Pup were hard on the Tin Lid, enlarging the hole seems to have fixed that problem, also had a grounding wire from the Jack to Tin Lid, which for some reason caused all sorts of problems, the removal of which fixed that problem, But!!, I have no idea why ???????????The Blend Pot concept seems to work alright, but don’t know if I’ll be using too many of them in the future!, in my opinion a single Magnetic Neck Pickup hardwired to the Jack seems to work just fine :-D
