AGP #284 - “Nine” - (3 String Guitar)Scale : 635mm / 25 inchesStrings : .054NW / .038NW / .028NW /Tuning: D / A / d /Started out with the sole intention of doing a similar build design that I had seen posted on Cigar Box Nation and liked!, and also to use a few of my newly acquired free recycled timber scores!, as the building process developed I eventually used a total of “Nine” different types of Wood, from Recycled Furniture, Piano, and other Bits and Pieces, but not knowing what type timber a lot of the pieces were, this then prompted me to do some research on the internet, and I came up with the list below of what, “I Think” they looked like, (some may be right!, some may be wrong!, all may be right!, all may be wrong!), obviously some are Australian Timbers and some are Imported. All wood was coated with one of my favourite Aussie products, “Gilly Stephenson’s (Clear)Restoring & New Timber Polish, which contains Beeswax and Carnauba Wax, one of the benefit’s being, it doesn’t yellow the lighter woods too much[1] Box Sides : Norway Spruce (Picea abies)[2] Box Straps : Cypress Pine (Callitrus glaucophylla)[3] Box Bottom : Grey Ironbark (Eucalyptus paniculata)[4] Fret Board : Queensland Walnut (Endiandra palmerstonii)[5] Neck & Soundboard : Forest Red Gum (Eucalyptus tereticornis)[6] Neck & Soundboard : Yellowwood Ash (Flindersia xanthoxyla)[7] Headstock Wings : Camphor Laurel (Cinnamomum camphora)[8] Output Jack Plate : Beech (Fagus sylvatica)[9] Bridge : Ebony (Diospyros ?)A 6.3k Tele Type Neck Pickup is hardwired to the Jack.
