AGP #229 - “The Hulk’’(3 String PVC Pipe Guitar)Scale: 685.8mm / 27 inchesStrings : .044BW/ .034BW / .026BW/Tuning: C / G / c /Seen a PVC Pipe build on Utube or somewhere?, and of course had to build one similar, the pipe is 40mm Pool Pressure PVC with 2 cap ends, the Nut and Bridge are Red Oak, the Strings are Gitty Blues Blaster’s, and a small Disc Piezo is hot glued to the inside of the pipe and hard wired to the nearby Jack. The Pipe construction can be played as is, but decided to put a body on to make it easier to hang on to, the pic on the left was the first attempt, but still hard to play, and the end result was a piece of 7mm ply with two pieces of 3 X 2, nailed & glues either side, stained with green food colouring and coated with linseed oil & turps, the sound holes were inked on with a Black Sharpie.I don’t think there is any difference in the sound, with either bodies or on it’s own, but sufficient to say it’s “different” from the norm, a bit hollowy? & boomy?, still looking for some suitable amp settings.

"Thanks" Uncle John, as described above, the best way to describe the sound, is different, played unplugged it's barely audible, and even when amped through the clean channels, it's not very loud, it's not until you use the dirty settings that it comes to life, and "screams, screech's and hollers", could be the piezo disc pup, which I am not a big fan of.

"Thanks" Maddog, kept the green theme from the first plastic body, like the sound, cheap & different!

"Thanks" Dave Lynas, I thought I had created a monster when it came to string it up, but!, it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be!
Hulkamania is running WILD!!! Nice!!!
I'd like to strum it a bit and see what it's like. Interesting, but the idea just does not grab me. But I know that 'oh, I have to try that feeling.'
Hmm. The more I think about it, the better the idea of trying it seems. The whole neck would be like a box resonator.
Cool!
