AGP #211 - “Goldy”(Film Can Dulcitar)Scale : 406.4mm / 16 inchesStrings : .024BW / .017PS / .013PS / .0.12PS /Tuning: GDggHad the small Film Can for abt 12 mths, it was always earmarked as a Dulcitar of some sort, and after seeing 'Old Lowes' recent "little lowe cone dulcimer" 16 inch scale open g tuned build, I used his ideas for this build, unfortunately! there is no comparison to my attempt with his great sounding build, I think the can is wee bit too small, also had a bit of trouble with the Piezo Disc pickup on this one, and it nearly had a test flight as a one way Boomerang from out the shed door, but for some unknown reason it fixed itself?

Thanks Uncle John, I totally agree with your way of thinking, it will be sentenced to "Solitary Confinement' for a spell, to be "Tweaked or Parted out sometime in the future.
LOL, on the near launch and the self-healing piezo. Short scales are tough to get just right with fretting and intonation. And old builders like you and I know that some builds are immediate players, some need tweaking, some need put out of sight and tweaked later - and a few really should be parted out.
I have a recent build that sure looks good, but has a buzz in the big string. Gonna try something else on it tomorrow.
