Don't know what happened to my comments. Made this one to enter in the Christmas contest but gave up after repeated attempts to get it entered with pics and description. The box is made from hickory from a 2-inch-thick board I salvaged years ago. I resawed it into thin strips. The neck is red oak and is installed on top of the box. The tuner and string were salvaged from an old banjo repair. The tail piece is a hinge recycled from an old treadle sewing machine.
