a gift from sunset premiun hardwoods

I picked out a piece of zebrawood and some sapele and walnut and cherry scraps and came up with about $50 worth of wood, and this guy grabbed a board and cut me about a board foot of his most expensive wood (I guess he doesn't sell a lot of it) which is some beautiful kind of ebony. It's as heavy and smooth as marble. He laughed and said good luck working it. C: the price tag would have been about 170 for this piece. I've never worked ebony. Any ideas for what to do with it? If I could resaw it, I'd have fretboards for months.

  • sweet!!!!

  • Impatience has struck and I've begun shaping a solidbody ebony electric uke. If it doesn't work right, I still have bridges.  This stuff is cool to work; it doesn't bother favoring the grain and it is so hard that slips don't hurt the wood at all.

  • The piece is 7/8x22x6"   I would like to do something besides carve bridges with it.
