Sound holes made from cut off Gatorade bottle necks with metal screening press formed into them. Finger board is fretted using the steel strips inside some old windshield wiper blades. Waste not, want not. :-)

  • Maybe or probably so, Jason.   But with shallow string grooves, as here, the string hop problems can be increased.    Straight shots from tail to bridge reduces problems for a so-so craftsman like me. 

  • nice guitar and use of materials, I always say, waste not, want more lol . cause even when i do save i still need more stuff

    Uncle John the problems with having the strings taper only come in if you have improperly slotted nut, or bridge saddles. if they are slotted properly and don't cause the strings to bind you should have no issues

  • Looks good.  Nice saddle.    Oh!  I just read what the frets are.  Wow.   I've used flat bobby pins and nails.   Now I just tend to use real frets.  

    One theory I have developed is that having the strings the same distance apart at the tail as at the nut reduces some problems at the bridge.
