I am glad to help. Remember, the measurement is from the front of the nut, not the midpoint or back. Tinyguitars makes and sells cigarbox fretboards premade and to order. i haven't seen them in person, but they look extremely professional and might be a good way to get your feet wet. They start at 25.00 and believe me, for the work and materials, that is a steal.
Dear Wallace, I don't know if anyone has answered your question on scale length. You can use any scale length you want, and there are plenty of sites that will give you either measurements or formulas. Just remember, the distance from the nut to the bridge is the scale length, but to compensate for the rise in the strings I take the measurement from the nut to the 12th fret, double that, and add about a 16th of an inch. If youmake the bridge floating, you can intonate by moving it slightly back or forth as you set it up. My Daddy Mojo box has a scale length very similar to a Gibson electric, about 24 3/4 scale. Hope that helps.
