Cigar box guitars are fascinating for several reasons, both historically and artistically. One of the most interesting aspects is their humble origin. Originally, these instruments were crafted by people in the 19th century who used cigar boxes as the body of the guitar, often out of necessity or a desire to create music with limited resources. The DIY nature of these instruments gives them a sense of creativity and resourcefulness.
