all these were 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 x 36 they are one piece, meaning the heal is integrated, the piece of wood you see on the bottom inside the box is just to reinforce where the neck was cut deep for the pickup to clear , again good luck with your project !!!
x36 like you are talking about, i used a table saw and a jigsaw to cut this, using table saw with dado blade to remove inside material, and jig saw carefully to do curves, much better than using a 3/4 stock, stronger , http://www.cigarboxnation.com/profile/James184, good luck !!! many ways to do it
