kari, thanks for the comment on the don tomas 3 stringer,i have played fretless for a while now,and still sometimes if i dont put the fret markers on the fingerboard where they are visible i will put a little mark on the top side of the neck where the player can see them,i usually put them on the 1,2,3,4,5,7,9,12,15,18 fret positions.to have these marks gives you more accuracy as a player.this particular photo was taken right after i put strings on,before i put finish on the walnut wood.next step i take it all apart and put finish on the neck wood then put it back together again as completed. thanks again.
Welcome aboard, Kari! You will find lots of helpful folks and information here on all things CBG (CBU, CBB, etc.) Feel free to poke around, ask questions, and post your stuff (photos, recordings, videos, etc.).
Up in the Free Resources menu at the top, you will see a number of plans for building and playing cigar box guitars/ukuleles/banjos/dulcimers/violins. I encourage you to download any of the plans, take a look at them, and ask questions from there. Also our site is VERY searchable. I bet you your questions have already been asked, so take a few moments and look around.
Join our Chat sometime (see the bar at the bottom of your browser page). Keep in mind that tho the chat window says there are X number of people online, not all may have the chat window up.
