Looking for inexpensive strings

Musician's Friend has some acoustic string packs from Musician's Gear (80/20 Bronze guitar strings) and D'Addario starting around $2.49 a pack.  I'm curious if anyone around here has ever used these, and if so, which packs work best for your 3-string
