"Is it normal to have a slight "bow" to the neck? Built a neck on top and not using heavy strings. (first build)"

Weird Little Install Issue

Just about to string my first build and have an issue. This little piece of the volume pot that sticks up (on the right) is not letting me flush up the mount on the inside of my box. ???????
