"Hi, nice work. It brought back memories. In 1983 I was working with people with a disability and one lady built the exact looking instrument, it turned out to be a one string fiddle.
She played in a small band we had.

"Yes, there is two, the neck sits in it like a cradle? The best way is to cut a piece of wood same size as the interior diameter of the can, then cut that in half, leaving you with two half rounds. Cut a notch in the center of each & screw the neck…"
