If I missed this, sorry, but if I build a 3 string slide guitar/resonator and a 3 string bass, can I use the same tuning in different octaves?

im i love with my scooby bass. i know you thinking 1 string bass what can you do with this in regards to tuning and playability? well when i started it at first i would just tune the one string to the key of the song. so i got an  A  string but if i move the root to the 7th fret you got E  open is A 2nd fret you got a B bamm you just made a 145 progression. why is this important? no rules but i find if i play some open notes it keeps me in tune this is and old upright bass trick to stay in tune. on 1 string bass you got 3 variations of this keeping with the idea of open notes in a 145 progression (ADE) open 5th 7th (DGA) 5th 10th open and (EAB) 7th open 2nd. ok ya with me now figure in that i can and have tuned my a string up to D with out braking a string and down to G before it got to sloppy to play so thats 3 versions X 5 maybe 6 tuningsGABCD maybe E with a quick tuning i can play any key on 1 string have fun with that stay cool Ice Bob

Help!(2)  Back to bass again, how can I mount 2 wire linked bass pick-ups without cutting any holes in the lid of the box?  I don't mind drilling some screw holes. The neck is through the box, cut away under the lid and strengthened.

Help!   I've built a 2 string bass using bass strings D&G, what tuning do I need, to

play along with a 3 string cbg tuned to either E A Csharp or A Csharp E.

Thanks,G.
