Glad you liked the link...

'sittin on the dock of the bay' is really enjoyable, too...                                    love those New Orleans street musicians accompanied by people from around the world... and the blues slide player from Italy...                                                                             and the drums.. love those drums... the whole project is very uplifting to my spirits.

We all feel pain at the same things, and joy in the same hopes......singing it and playing it shows our hearts more completely than anything.

Now, i do have something to say, if i may....                                               Mz.L., i love your voice...  the 'echo' is masking some of the vocals' raw power for me... maybe it's my 'old ears'...could you make a cut with a little less echo in it... for just me, even, if that is ok to ask??

the blues were born as a response to the whip lash..... some of us know the lash is still there....  on EVERYONE'S back --- except for a select few.  and none of us here is part of the select few, as far as i can tell.                 Soooo...... Sing it girl !!!  Sing it loud !!!!

these are the blues of OUR times and the sweet potato pies of OUR Thanksgivings.... you do them justice.

i read up on the SSFL---eye opener !! and, irony of ironies, it too was something i did not know about and it is very pertinent to my research....that '59 stuff  happened 52 years-- to the month--- before Fukushima...!!!...

and nobody knows about it...why ? ...... i'm with you, LL....wtf?

DW, glad you and the kids and family are doing better. May your holidays be cozy.

We do have snow and lots of cold... after such a dry year, the snow is more than welcome.... the drought took a toll.

the cigar box guitar is a deep symbol, isn't it ?                                                                  if we know how to find the song in everything, what else...?

and now,  for some much needed housework time... wishing you all happinesses and lots of music...zandi.

Hey Laurie Lee, I know you must be tired and sore from cleaning out the garage.

You are right--out of sight, out of mind. We are in the process of cleaning out from under the carport. Sat. we went to the farm, and helped my husband sister and brother-in-law. His sister's husband and son moved to the old home place, are trying to fix it up. She is staying in Hawkinsville, still working. He is getting on disability, and just closed up his lawnmower business in Macon. I helped my husband's sister pull nails out of studs in the house. Danny helped her husband move some stuff off a trailer into an old barn. It was fun to me, but it wasn't to Danny. It brought back too many old bad memories of him growing up down there. He doesn't want to ever go back there.

I am glad they are trying to fix the old house up and live there. I hated to see it just fall down. There is a lot of work that needs doing on the old house. It will cost a lot of money. We just couldn't see sinking that much money into it. And I don't know where their money is coming from. As far as I know, they didn't win the lottery.

I agree with Zandi about your talent, you are great, girl.

A lot of doctor appointments this week---Mama and me. Trying to end my Christmas buying which is not much.

Going to have some work done on our house on the outside, just maintaince stuff.

Nothing else is going on here. Bubba and Scottie are fine. They are still using the ramp we built Bubba to get on and off the bed. Scottie likes to use it, too. I told Danny as long as Bubba is alive, we should leave it up for him. It has three platforms to it, so the ramps wouldn't be so steep. Scottie likes to lay on the platforms. Scottie tore another hole in his little bear; I had to sew up boo boo again. Scottie loves to shake his bear and throw it up in the air.

I am signing off from a rainy S Ga night.

Hey Zandi, thanks for sharing the music with us. It was different to me, but I liked it.

I hope you are alright. Is it snowing out west yet? Right now it is raining here, and cooler which I like the cooler weather.

Signing off from S Ga.

thankyou so much Zandi--I considered that this song might bring on the blues, and almost held it back...but figured in posting that the simple hope that it might enlighten or benefit someone, even one person, outweighed the risk of offering a sad topic...

I loved the music post from Brazil (have seen another one or two of this series, so awesome!)...meant to show my boys over the weekend....they'd love all the drum lines!

I'm busy winding up the last of my Dad's garage cleanup...has left me sore and tired...will be a full week of tying up loose ends...pitching junque into a dumpster....no worries, it is REAL junk! LOL...we need to travel lighter, in this world...what is out of sight out of mind, it still THERE....hehehe....a garage is like a BIG closet......

have a sweet week, ladies of CBN--hoping everyone is well!

Laurie

Ladies... i, too, have been busier than usual..it was good to check in and see all the changes...what a surprise !

i am glad everyone is well.... or better.

LL and DW...hugs to you, and healing vibes, too.

Mama M, i loved the article.... very well written and substantive.... you definitely are about quality... and, as the kids might say,"you represent".

and NO and Be.... you guys are just a plum good delight.... !!!!!

you make me want to heave all my number crunching out the window and never let go of my guitar until my playing is as fluid as yours.

still, all the number crunching i did on string gauges and lengths, and learning scale construction using Integer Notation,  gave me a perspective which has led to a giant breakthrough in my 'other hobby'... studying the ripples in the Space-Time continuum.

keep playing, wimmin... i think the dance floor likes it...happiness to you all...z.

Peggy, what kind of help do you need to build a CBG? There are many talented women builders in this group. Just ask us, someone will be glad to respond to you.
