i built a wine box guitar once... a 6-stringer. came out pretty nice but heavy as hell..! the sound was really sweet... it leaved the nest and found a new home a few days ago..! :(

Hi Mark,

welcome to WBG group !

I haven't completed my first build yet.

The wood thickness is about 8mm, but the wood does not seem not very solid, so I went for a neck-through-body.

So....Interesting looking possibilities.   Has anyone actually put one together yet?  From the couple of photos, I'm a little worried about the wood thickness.

Possibly thickness-plane the lid?

I'm eager to complete my first WBG too, but I have to wait for the tuners I bought on  eBay to arrive :-(

I think I'll drink 3 bottles, to get a box like yours :D

Hi all, I started my first wine box guitar last nite. I couldn't find a cigar box to make a lisence plate reso but I found a perfect wine box with out even looking.I will post some pix soon.

After drinking a lovely Cabernet, I looked at its wooden box and I realized it was perfect !!!  Wine and music have always been a perfect pair !
