  • Yes, the bridge pup is from Ted Crocker. Since taking that photo, I had Ted make a matching humbucker to replace the zebra h-bucker at the neck position.

Eliminating hum

So I got my lap steel painted up, ready to go, install the humbucker and it doesn't buck.. it hums I had the issue in my CBG with a single coil and attaching foil to ground all internals solved it. How might I quiet my lap steel with no insides to shield? It is wired correctly, and will quiet when I touch the jackplate or pickup

String spacing on the 2 x 4 lap steel

Hey I got a lap steel kit from CB Gitty and am about to drill the holes below the bridge for the string feed. Has anyone here put them together using the plans that come with the kit? If so, should the string feeds be a bit unevenly spaced as the directions show? It would have the two highest strings a bit closer to each other. I've never played a lap steel regularly so not sure what's normal. The directions show this spacing between strings from low to high 3/8, 3/8, 1/2, 1/2, 1/4 I feel…
