Top Gluing Frame

I have been making my own boxes with solid wood.  The boxes are about 8" x 10" and the tops are 1/8" thick.  My saw will only cut 2 1/2" thick so I have to glue pieces together.  This is the frame I used. I put wax paper on each side of the wood to keep glue off the frame.
