been checking out your websites funnily enough, smojo you make some nice guitars man! and hollow belly i love your playing, where can i buy a cd, or better still are you planning on coming to essex anytime soon?
i like the quality street guitar on your site smojo, i wish my wife hadn't just chucked a tin away!! i suppose any type of box will do, or i could even make one, how about a flying v cigar box guitar!lol

hi Ade-why not do what I did-give up! then, find a tin (much easier to find here in the UK) and make one outa that instead-sure you get a more 'reso' tone and less 'warmth', but still.I personally spent hours on Ebay trying to find decent cigarboxes the right size at a reasonable price to no avail.I think making one with whatever is at hand is true to the ethos of cbg's y'know?

Randy - I just bought a couple of nice old plates on Ebay. Have vague ideas of using one on a stompboard and maybe one as on a battery amp. They are cool items. If I need any more I'll let you know. Come on guys these are good value if you want some vintage Americano to go with your CBG theme.

Hi Ade and welcome. Never too late, it took me about 54 years! Being a Yorkshireman I can't help on any actaul locations in essex. Just seek out the old fashioned tobacconists that sell pipes and cigars. There's still a few around and Googling 'tobacconist' shoulduld give you some clues of where to look. Also look in your local Yellow Pages.

i've just discovered the world of cigar boxes! it's only taken me 36 years.
i plan to build one as soon as possible, does anyone know a good place in essex to get cigar boxes from(other then fleabay).

Anyone fancy building a U.S. license plate resonator? Iv got a load of original plates that I bought for another project (decorating my motorbike shed!) - they are mainly Illinois plates from the '70s, off things like trucks, tractors, ambulances etc etc, mainly in white or yellow with black lettering - Iv got a lot of pairs too if you wanted to be flash and do a 'his n hers' set, or a matching guitar and amp? £3 each or £5 pair + postage (which should be pence as they are thin tin), or swaps? Pics available - I might even get around to building one meself...
