New UK Based Cigar Box Guitar Blog

Hi Guys and Girls,

I have a new blog dedicated to building cigar box guitars and thought you might want to check it out and see what you think.

I’m adding my various projects on to it as I go along; the first project is a basic 3 string unfretted CBG primarily for beginners, but there will be more complex builds in the future.

Comments and criticisms are appreciated and if you have some ideas on future projects I can see what I can do. I already have a few ideas lined up including two licence plate guitars, a hub cap banjo (my new project) and I Mexican Sombrero styled guitar.

  • Nice one, have bookmarked it for future reference

  • The gallery has been updated and has two of my earlier builds plus the basic CBG featured in the blog.

  • Nice website. Can't see any pics in gallery?!  Hubcap banjo sounds good; if 5 string,ah might be interested :)

    • Hi Jamie, I haven't got round to sorting the gallery out yet, but will hopefully get round to it some time this week. I'm working on the hub cap banjo body at the moment, haven't really decided if it's going to be a 3 or 4 string guitar scale or an all out 5 string banjo. Could be interesting!!

    • 3 string, 4 string or 5 string, Stewart, ma man? I used ta think ah was indecisive, but now ah'm not so sure!  ;)

    • Lol, I know I am pretty indecisive. That's what I love about building your own CBG's, its a blank canvas and new ideas keep popping up all the time.

    • Know what ya mean, Stewy (ah LOVE Family Guy btw! lol). Ma mind is constantly in "blank canvas" mode. Its in the mode just now.............................................................(what WAS ah sayin,,,,,,   lol)

  • Thanks guys, it's very much a work in progress at the moment and am trying to add to it as much as I can.

I just got my pickup parts and winder delivered so will be adding some building your own custom pickup posts in the future too.

  • Looks good... Thanks
