As a small group [ 86 members ] do we really want to be creating divisions due to the location of Boxstock.
Wherever it is it will be further to travel and more inconvenient for some than others.
Should not the place to resolve this be at the agm, a general location to be voted and agreed upon before getting down to the specifics of venue etc.
Some of the comments suggest that the HGMC are two people, rather than eighty six people . A collective : adjective 'done by people acting as a group'.
This is a democracy with the committee elected at the agm, anyone thinking they can bring something better to the table stand for election.
Having said that I will go pretty much anywhere for a good time and think that members should hold regional events under the HGMC banner for us all to enjoy.

These comments were specific to the Home Grown Music Collective, not Cigar Box Nation.
I have just noticed both posts I assume you are talking about the alternative festival,
Although it wouldn't be a problem for me going to Manchester there are many people who maybe cannot afford the trip as it may include a stop off somewhere b and b etc,
I do not think that people on here TAKE OVER and cause problems for others or it's a power thing ,
I think both festivals would be great and whoever is organising them we should be grateful that they are doing just that ,
This website was created by one man and no one complained about that,
I think if it get to AGM ish we will spoil the whole idea that SHANE had for this site,
Surely the way to go is after an event maybe post comments that are constructive rather than corrective,
Maybe even a competition between the north and south which would also create a general comradery in the nation,
Let's all enjoy what we have as a NATION we all love the music and the great posts/discussions on here,
It's all great and remember it does take an awful lot of time to organise these things and there are always unsung heroes,
I will probably try and go to both ,
