I am thinking of buying a Record Power BS12 12in Standard Bandsaw, 1ho, this is based on limited space and cost.
Has any one got one, or advice on a similar machine would be appreciated. I like the BS300e but it is larger and more expensive.

I've got the Record BS300 (bought secondhand) which is the slightly more upmarket one, but I think the spec is pretty similar. The only thing I'm not mad keen on are the blade guides - I prefer the look of the Axminster machines arrangement but then again, this is only bandsaw I've ever owned, so I'm not sure if there's much difference in actual use. It's a real workhorse, and you've got a proper cast iron table and a reasonably powerful motor. It's been easy to get spares (only needed to replace a drive belt, and a drivewheel tyre, as that was perished when I bought it), and no problem getting blades - I usually have them custom made and its a really quick service from http://www.justbandsawblades.co.uk/
It will l do a lot of stuff for you - I use mine everyday and work it hard.
