I recently sold my house in New York states wonderful finger lakes region and moved back to the Houston area of Texas to spend more time with my three boys, their wonderful families, and my grandkids. But even before I have found a good job or a house to buy here, I am wondering how many CBG players there are, and which ones might be in need of an experienced suitcase bass player with awesome vocal ability and quality songwriting ability that would be interested in getting something going? Google Muckland Crooners to check out the old configuration....and email me @ wparsons1956@gmail.com if you are local and interested in a get together.

Alright y'all. I bought a house in Conroe, Texas, and am looking to start making music again with some local good ol boys or gals. Brought my suitcase bass along with a strong yearning to sing and have a ball. I know there has to be someone close that wants to jam. I'm ready, willing, and able......
Invite's still open............come on by BA on Fridays!
Hi Bill! Welcome to Houston! I'm a builder (not a player) in Katy. I sell my CBGs up in Navasota at Blues Alley, a place you should check out. Navasota is deemed the Blues Capital of Texas. We have a small blues museum and an annual Bluesfest in honor of Mance Lipscomb at the Grimes County Fairgrounds. Unfortunately, you missed it by just a couple of weeks. Justin Johnson performed there and brought the house down!
You'll also probably want to check out the Houston Blues Society. I'm sure you can find the players you seek there!
Thanks for your reply and suggestions, I'll have to check them out. I used to live in Magnolia, in Montgomery County, so am familiar with the area. I am also a builder, but not a player of the cbgs, at least not yet. I do love the basses I have built, and play the dickens out of em. Can't beat that two string weedwhacker bass sound.
