Is anybody here from the Austin, San Antonio, or Rockport/Fulton area? My family is going to be spending about 3 weeks in those places at the end of December. We'll mostly be in Fulton, which is where her parents snowbird for the winter, but we'll be hitting up those other places too. It'd be cool to meet people, or if you know of cool places to check out, that'd be good too.
We've also been thinking about moving to Austin, so if you've got good/bad things to say about Austin, here's your chance.

I'm from Austin and it is bad ass here!!! I've lived alot of different places and there is no place like Austin!!! Lots of cool music and things going on all the time!!! Good Luck Brotha!!!
We spent a couple more days in Austin this summer. We still think we'd like to move there, but I don't think it's going to happen right away. I actually know a couple people in Austin now, so I'm not completely in the dark. Granted, even without someone to show me the ropes, we really liked it!
I live in Austin - I LOVE it here. Beer, BBQ, good people, beautiful women, great music, a park you can get lost in smack dab in the middle of the city....what's not to love ?
We've got Dale Watson, Redd Volkaert, The Salt Lick, The Continental Club, Chickensh*t Bingo @ Ginnys, mild winters, reasonable cost of living, no state tax, Lone Star Beer, Shiner Bock Beer, The Saxon, Zilker Park, and even a bridge that is home to approximately 500,000 bats !
Dang, I love it here.

I'm back home now. Spent a few days in Austin and plan to return this summer and check out what your blistering summers are like. I'm man enough for Minnesota winters, so I think I'm man enough for Austin summers. However, my wife isn't so sure she's man enough for Austin summers.

Hey Matte,
Mike, here in San Antonio. After you've been here you'll know why we say "if you cross the state line, you're just campin' out..... you'll be back." Come on down friend.
