Excellent! We're months away from announcing a contest. But, I assume announcing around Thanksgiving would give everyone plenty of time to build something and submit pics by the entry date - sometime around the end of March 2013. What I'm really trying to accomplish here is a good CBG presence at this small but growing festival.
Bob, Its not a bad idea overall. I would build if I get a chance.

I'll build one.
So, um, no interest? I mentioned it to the co-founder of the RW festival and he was very enthusiastic, calling it a "home run" idea.
Hey guys, I just got back from a fantastic festival in Martinsville, VA called RoosterWalk (roosterwalk.com).
Would any of y'all be interested in a building contest for next year? My thoughts:
This festival has a tradition of using one guitar each year, having all the bands sign it after their performances at the festival, then auctioning it off via silent auction during the festival. This year I donated the guitar - got a lot of good marketing out of it, too. They have asked me to build a guitar for next year, too.
I like my idea better - several folks build guitars and the festival chooses the one they like. The winner gets free VIP admission to the festival, mention in the program with pics of the guitar, and business cards/profile/etc... at the merchandise tent where the guitar is displayed during the festival.
I haven't pitched this to the RW folks yet, but I'm pretty sure they'll like it. I'd like to know if anyone is interested first.
Would anyone here be interested in taking part? I think it would be good for the builder, as well as for CBGs in general. We could really establish a good presence at this festival and promote CBGs in general.
I'm in if I can .... the employment situation (or lack thereof) is keeping me from making any kinds of plans.

I'm in <fingers crossed>
