Do you know a way to age new nickel plated hardware (cheap bolts etc. having that cold blue hue on a matte/frosted surface) using easily available chemicals? Thank you.

Gun cold blue or browing soulution, vinagar, clorox, really any acid could work. I have used a powder that is used in making pickles, I don't recall the of the name stuff. But all parts needs to be degreased first. I have posted photos in the steampunk area that could help you. But please Remember all these chemicals are dangerous and care should be taken when used.
