I was thinking about buying some cheap ukulele fretboards, but something nagged at me in the back of my mind and I did a bit of research. It seems that new regulations apply from the beginning of this year and if I import anything it needs to come with a CITES certificate.
Has anyone had any issues with importing rosewood or bubinga this year? Are there reputable dealers that will proved the proper documentation? I have my doubts about wish.com sellers and would rather not risk having goods confiscated on arrival.

Hi Alan,
Its a bit of a problem. I haven't found a source for Rosewood. You will find a trader on Trademe that runs a listing under Rosewood, its actually a wood from New Guinea that is a distant relative of Rosewood I've not taken the time to try it yet. I use bubinga for my fretboards I get it from Rosenfeld Kidson in Auckland they have the documentation that will put your mind at ease. Hopefully you can find a supplier in your area.
Good luck
Terry
