  • Hi. Just joined up today. Keen on getting involved. I've been jamming with a McNally strumstick for a while and have just committed to building a cbg. I've built a couple of guitars in the past, so am looking forward to knocking one of these things out. Picked up some Matai today planed to size for 5 bucks. Looks like I'm onto a good source here in taranaki.

    • welcome to the forum

  • Hey Jeff, great to hear from you mate. I've not been on this site for a while but I'm back with a vengeance now. Mate building one of these is a really cool thing to do. Have a look around the site and check out some of the playing vids. I'm in Auckland and happy to hook up and show you some stuff if that's ok. Keep in touch mate

  • I'm not a player yet. I am a builder and would love it if someone who is a good slide player was local. To improve on my builds a musicians imput is sorely missed.

I have heard of a few around these parts who have been busking, selling their cd's. If anyone has contacts they could pass on it would be great.

But hey guys, being so far away from all the 'wonders of the world' is why I'm still here.

    I love being Kiwi :)

    • No worries dude, I play my CBG all the time, gigged with it at the weekend at The Riverhead Tavern out west of Auckland. Where abouts are you based dude?
