      Hi Paul Craig,

Thank you for the message and thanks for listening to my song Whisky Drinkin' woman. Can you post it on your line.  I want a cigar box to play the blues on. I would like a four string one but perhaps a six string one would be really up my alley. Have they made 6 string Cigar Box slide guitars. Do you thing the string tension of the other three strings will be to much for the infer structure traditionally built for the four sting ones will not work and I would have to design more bracing?

Please lead the way. If you have any videos or sound clips please send me them or the URL if they are on You Tube

I am located in Newmaket just north of Toronto Ontario.

      All is good

    • I haven't made any videos or sound clips, don't have a decent camera or mic to do any justice.

I've seen 6 string CBG's and anything's possible with the right bracing. The Essential Pages section at the top right of the page can be of help with construction of what ever git you intend to build. The 3 string is simplicity at it's best for 1-5-1 power chords and slide. Most of my gits are 4 string 1-5-1-3 and fretted, they're good for full chords and 4rths/7ths. 6 stringers can be used in their regular fashion or tuned into 2 - 3 stringers on the same board(1 bass/baritone and 1 regular or Mando territory) or whatever you dream up.

You can make a nice 8 string Bouzouki.

I made a baritone dulcimer conversion neck for a cheap Strat body, I call it a Dulcitar. It has 6 strings tuned C-G-C-G-C-C, it's a very versatile instrument that can do some Sitar type tones.

So get some ideas and read the building basics in the essential pages and get your build on.306663984?profile=RESIZE_1024x1024

Hi Dave, Thank you for the message. You USA Players Rock!!  I love the players in Nashville. I went down to the Chet Atkins Summer Convention and loved seeing all the guitar players in the town and from different parts around the world.  I was born in California but moved to Canada with my folks in the 70's.

Can you lead me to the link where you can find Cigar Box Guitars already built and ready to order?
